As a survivor of any kind of trauma, it impacts you for a lifetime. Child abuse, domestic partner violence, physical, sexual, emotional, abandonment, financial.

The list goes on and on. It doesn't matter if it's one time or many, the scars last a lifetime.

Don't rush your healing. Even when you've done all the work, and think you are over something, it still may come up when you least expect it.

Be kind and patient with yourself. Remember the end goal is never-ending. But you can get to a place where you are mentally healthy and learn to understand, feel and be comfortable with your emotions, depression, thoughts, etc.

And don't forget to love yourself in the process.
